Counselling offers you a safe, confidential, private and caring space to explore issues, thoughts, emotions and feelings that have come about as a result of various life events. This takes place within a non-judgemental, honest and understanding relationship. It is not about advice or guidance, but a secure place for you to explore options available to you.
Its aim is to help you to understand what maybe going on in your life, look at what you might like to change about your life and empower you to do so. It can feel good to be free of the burdens that you originally came into counselling to address.
It is a client-led process, so you control the direction and speed that the counselling takes.
Counselling may involve a few sessions over a number of weeks, or it might be a much longer relationship. In the first instance we would meet for an assessment to whether we felt able to work together.
We would meet weekly for a 50 minute session, ideally the same day and time. For counselling to be most beneficial, regular attendance is important. 24 hours notice is required for cancellation, and if it is less than this, you will be expected to pay for the full session.
Most people at some point in their lives have felt so overwhelmed that they find it impossible to see a way out of a situation. My beliefs are that everybody has the resources within themselves, given the right environment, to experience therapeutic change.
Why not give me a call to see how I can help you to improve your life? Counselling could enable you to have that new beginning.
